Ecco la sinossi ufficiale del film di Carpenter del 1982:
In una stazione scientifica dell'Antartide, dodici uomini trovano un essere alieno caduto dal cielo e rimasto nel ghiaccio per centomila anni. Una volta scongelato, l'alieno mutante inizia a distruggere ciò che trova sul suo cammino, spargendo terrore e assumendo le sembianze di uno degli scienziati.
