VES Awards: Blade Runner 2049 e The War: il Pianeta delle Scimmie dominano le nomination

La Visual Effects Society ha annunciato oggi le nomination alla 16esima edizione dei VES Awards, che verranno assegnati il 13 febbraio.

A dominare le candidature Blade Runner 2049 e The War: il Pianeta delle Scimmie, con 7 nomination a testa inclusi migliori effetti visivi in un lungometraggio fotorealistico (insieme a Guardiani della Galassia Vol.2, Kong: Skull Island e Star Wars: Gli Ultimi Jedi). Il prodotto che ha ottenuto più nomination di tutti, però, è la settima stagione di Game of Thrones - il Trono di Spade, candidato a undici premi. Cattivissimo Me 3, invece, domina le nomination nella sezione animata.

I cinque film nominati come lungometraggio fotorealistico sono nella shortlist finale delle pellicole candidate alla nomination all'Oscar per i Migliori Effetti Visivi, e realisticamente dovrebbero ottenere la nomination. Un anno fa Il Libro della Giungla ottenne il VES Award e vinse l'Oscar.
