Razzie 2009: le nomination degli anti-Oscar
The Love Guru domina le nomination ai Razzie Award, gli anti-Oscar. Il film di Mike Meyers però deve vedersela con altri film considerati "marci" nel 2008, come E Venne il Giorno e The Hottie & the Nottie. Premio speciale per Uwe Boll...

Secondo la press release, dei "573 film distribuiti nel 2008 ben 75 sono stati considerati per le nove categorie". Tra i contendenti al premio come peggior film dell'anno numerose pellicole demenziali "che non hanno fatto ridere nessuno", come Disaster Movie, Meet the Spartans (nominati assieme) e The Love Guru, oltre a E Venne il Giorno, The Hottie and the Nottie (il floppone con Paris Hilton non poteva passare inosservato) e il kolossal (!) In The Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. Con i suoi 5 milioni di incasso, contro i 60 di budget, quest'ultimo è valso il Razzie come Peggior Carriera al regista Uwe Boll.
Il film più nominato in assoluto, comunque, è The Love Guru, con Mike Myers nominato come peggior attore, Jessica Alba come peggior attrice, Verne Trouer e Ben Kingsley peggiori attori non protagonisti.
Se qualcuno si chiede come mai The Spirit non abbia ricevuto nomination, sappia che i responsabili dei Razzie hanno chiuso le votazioni appena prima che il film uscisse, ma hanno promesso che nella prossima edizione il flop di Frank Miller riceverà la giusta considerazione.
