Manchester by the Sea è il miglior film dell'anno secondo la National Board of Review

Un anno fa Mad Max: Fury Road veniva nominato miglior film dell'anno dalla National Board of Review. Oggi l'importante associazione americana di cinefili composta da studenti, insegnanti, appassionati, storici e membri dell'industria del cinema ha premiato Manchester by the Sea di Kenneth Lonergan, dando il via (assieme ai Gotham Awards e alle nomination agli Independent Spirit Awards) alla stagione dei premi della critica e alle influenze che questa avrà sull'Oscar Buzz. Negli ultimi 20 anni sono solo 4 i film che hanno vinto l'NBR ad aver ottenuto poi l'Oscar, tuttavia l'esempio dell'anno scorso dimostra che si tratta comunque di pellicole che l'Academy non dimentica in fase di nomination (Mad Max poi ne ha vinti sei tecnici).
