Hollywood, naturalmente, ha reagito con dichiarazioni e tributi sui social network; c'è stato anche un omaggio dei fan di Harry Potter a Orlando, in Florida, dove è in corso la Harry Potter Celebration. Adulti e bambini hanno detto addio a "Olivander" alzando le bacchette proprio nei pressi della riproduzione del negozio del fabbricante di bacchette a Diagon Alley.
