I Classic Monster della Universal arrivano in Blu-Ray!

Nel 2012, anno in cui la Universal festeggia il centenario con una serie d'iniziative di cui vi abbiamo più volte parlato nel corso dei mesi, su tutte la riproposizione in Alta Definizione di alcune delle sue pellicole più famose e indimenticabili, c'è un gruppo di film che non poteva di sicuro mancare all'appello.

Parliamo della cosiddetta Classic Monster Collection, denominazione all'interno della quale sono racchiuse pellicole come Dracula, Frankenstein, La Mummia e L'Uomo Invisibile; opere fortemente volute dal fondatore della major, Carl Laemmle, in anni in cui il concetto di Studio System, di marchio di fabbrica del produttore erano molto più importanti di quanto non lo siano oggi.

Quelle pellicole erano il perfetto punto d'incontro fra la sensibiità europea e il senso degli affari di un genio nato il 17 gennaio 1867 nel quartiere ebraico di Laupheim, in Germania.

Gia arrivati in Dvd qualche anno fa grazie a un sontuoso cofanetto contenente i busti da collezione di Dracula, Frankenstein e dell'Uomo Lupo, queste gemme torneranno in Blu-Ray in autunno. I dati diffusi dalla divisione americana dello studio parlano del 2 ottobre. La Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection offrira ben 8 film restaurati digitalmente, una corposa quantità di extra per ciascuno di essi e un libro di 48 pagine che proporrà fotografie dal dietro le quinte, poster, lettere e molto altro. Inoltre, Il Mostro della Laguna Nera di Jack Arnold verrà proposto in 3D (ricordiamo ai lettori che già al tempo della sua uscita, l'horror richiedeva la visione per mezzo di occhialini polarizzati, mentre la riedizione degli anni settanta venne effettuata con il meno performante 3D anaglifo).
