HBO Max rende ufficiale la denominazione DC Extended Universe

HBO Max ha aperto oggi i battenti negli Stati Uniti: la piattaforma streaming di WarnerMedia include al lancio una library di film e serie tv, tra cui anche i blockbuster tratti dai fumetti DC Comics. Ed è proprio la sezione dedicata ai film DC a proporre un nome definitivo per l'attuale Universo Cinematografico, che da oggi si chiama ufficialmente DC Extended Universe e che comprende le pellicole dal 2013 a oggi, a partire da L'Uomo d'Acciaio. Si tratta di un nome usato comunemente negli ultimi anni, ma che non è stato coniato dalla Warner Bros. né utilizzato ufficialmente durante la produzione dei film: era stato ideato da un reporter di Entertainment Weekly nel 2015 a margine della presentazione di Batman v Superman al Comic-Con di San Diego.

La collezione di film, quindi, ora viene denominata DC Extended Universe nell'interfaccia della piattaforma:

Quello che non è chiaro è se un film come Joker verrà inserito in una futura label "DC Dark" come ipotizzato qualche mese fa.

Curiosamente, il DC Extended Universe su HBO Max debutta "monco": mancano sia L'Uomo d'Acciaio che il recente Birds of Prey (che arriverà prossimamente). Le pellicole presenti sono parecchie, ma sono assenti importanti film come la trilogia del Cavaliere Oscuro di Christopher Nolan, Watchmen e i film della saga di Superman degli anni settanta/ottanta. Ecco i titoli non presenti:
