They really showed respect to the original film (this is a DIRECT sequel, Ellen Burstyn & Linda Blair are both in it --even tho Linda's just a cameo at the end to set up next film).

When Linda Blair appeared on screen, there was a standing ovation. The 2 new little girls deserve Oscar nominations --so does Ellen Burstyn (again). The story is DEEP. Script & music really dominate. The movie is SCURRY as FUGG!

Seriously I fucking despised the new Exorcist film. Exorcist II by Boorman isn’t a good movie either but it at least tried something interesting. The only thing I liked about this new Exorcist film was Linda Blair’s brief cameo
