Emmy: The Pacific e Glee fanno il pieno di nomination

Quest'anno sono The Pacific e Glee le serie che ottengono il maggior numero di nomination agli Emmy, gli Oscar della televisione americana che verranno consegnati il 29 agosto.

Cinque dei dodici serial nominati come miglior commedia e miglior dramma sono nuovi arrivati, così come nelle varie categorie ci sono moltissimi che ottengono la nomination per la prima volta. Grande soddisfazione per il network Fox, che con Glee ottiene un riconoscimento notevole (19 nomination) dopo gli ottimi risultati di pubblico. La serie compare nelle categorie principali, tra cui miglior commedia, attore (Matthew Morrison), attrice (Lea Michele) e non protagonisti (Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch).

24 le nomination ottenute da The Pacific, la miniserie sulla Seconda Guerra Mondiale della HBO, tra cui miglior miniserie drammatica e le principali categorie recistative.  

A contrastare le due favorite, ci sono i due storici vincitori degli Emmy dell'anno scorso: il tre volte vincitore dell'Emmy 30 Rock (anche quest'anno nominato come miglior commedia, 15 le categorie questa volta, tra cui Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin e Jane Krakowski) e il due volte vincitore Mad Men (miglior dramma, 17 nomination tra cui January Jones, John Slattery, Christina Hendricks, Elisabeth Moss e Jon Hamm). Tra gli altri nominati, Lost (13 nomination, tra cui Matthew Fox), Modern Family (14), Dexter (7 nomination, tra cui Michael C. Hall).

Tra le sorprese, la nomination a Conan O'Brien nonostante la brevissima presenza alla stagione attuale del Tonight Show sulla NBC - Jay Leno, che lo ha sostituito, non ha ottenuto nomination. Un'altra nomination anche per Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), così come per Steve Carell (The Office), Hugh Laurie (House) e l'immancabile Tony Shalhoub (Monk). Nominata ancora una volta anche Toni Collette (The United States of Tara).

Buona parte del cast di Modern Family affolla le categorie dei mogliori attori non protagonisti, stesso dicasi per Glee.

La premiazione verrà presentata da Jimmy Fallon al Nokia Theatre di Los Angeles il 29 agosto e andrà in onda dal vivo per la prima volta in trent'anni.
