Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson conquista la copertina di Sports Illustrated

È stato un anno straordinario per Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson: nel 2016 l'attore è stato  tra i più richiesti, pagati e celebrati di Hollywood. L'ultimo traguardo dell'ex wrestler approdato al cinema è la conquista della copertina di Sports Illustrated, nel cui ultimo numero si ripercorrono le tappe della vita di Johnson dall'adolescenza a oggi, dai tentativi di entrare nella National Football League all'approdo al wrestling fino all'avventura del grande schermo. Come raccontato dallo stesso Johnson:

Sono sempre stato un interprete. Quando ero piccolo mi divertivo a intrattenere la mia famiglia con i monologhi di Richard Pryor. Il wrestling, dunque, mi è venuto facile. Il mio primo pensiero ogni sera è stato sempre quello di creare una connessione tra me e il pubblico.

I failed to make it to the NFL (as well as got cut from the Canadian Football League). But my football failure created a drive that still pushes me today. Now years later THE COVER of @SportsIllustrated dream & goal was just achieved. Holy shit! (that's the 15yr old in me talkin';). At the end of the day, I want to surround myself with the hungriest and most brilliant team, because I never want to just play in the game, I always want change the way the game played.
