Avatar sbanca ai Saturn Awards

Era inevitabile: 10 statuette su 10 nomination per Avatar ai 36esimi Saturn Awards, gli Oscar della fantascienza, del fantasy e dell'horror. Premiati anche Watchmen, Drag Me to Hell e Tarantino...

L'Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films ha annunciato i vincitori dei 36esimi Saturn Awards, che si sono tenuti il 24 giugno a Burbank. Considerati gli Oscar della fantascienza, del fantasy e dell'horror, la maggior parte dei premi di quest'anno non potevano non andare ad Avatar di James Cameron.

Il kolossal fantascientifico aveva 10 candidature e ha ottenuto 10 premi: due per gli attori protagonisti Sam Worthington e Zoe Saldana, due per gli attori non protagonisti Stephen Lang e Sigourney Weaver, due premi per lo sceneggiatore e regista James Cameron (già vincitore di sei Saturn, quest'anno si è portato a casa anche il Visionary Award).

Watchmen, nominato sette volte, ha vinto il premio come miglior film fantasy, migliori costumi e miglior DVD; Drag Me to Hell ha vinto come miglior film horror, mentre Bastardi senza Gloria come miglior film d'azione/avventura/thriller.

Grande delusione per Sherlock Holmes, tornato a casa a mani vuote nonostante le otto nomination. Una sola vittoria sia per District 9 (miglior film internazionale) e Star Trek (miglior makeup), quest'ultimo chiaramente vittima del successo di Avatar.
